Help and FAQ

Why did my file disappear?

On the Free plan, files are deleted 14 days after upload. The expiry date and time are shown next to every file. Trashed files are deleted when their trash window ends, and never later than the file's own expiry.

Why is my upload waiting for a scan?

Every upload is scanned for malware before you can download or share it. This normally takes moments. If the scanner is unavailable the file stays quarantined until it is back. It is never released unscanned.

Which files can I upload?

Common documents, images, audio, video, text and zip archives. Programs, scripts, HTML/SVG and macro-enabled Office files are refused, and a file's contents must match its extension.

I revoked a link but someone still downloaded the file.

Revoking stops new downloads at once. A download URL that was already issued works for up to 60 seconds, and a transfer already underway can finish.

Can I get a file back after it expires?

No. Expired and deleted files cannot be restored. Upgrading only helps files that have not yet been queued for deletion.

What does the monthly download allowance count?

Each authorised external download counts at the file's full size, so retries can count again. It is a fair-use control, not an exact bandwidth cap.

I lost my authenticator device.

Use one of your single-use recovery codes on the MFA screen. If you have none left, contact support from the address on your account.

Is Spaces end-to-end encrypted?

No. It uses server-managed encryption so that files can be scanned and previewed. See the Security page.
